The U.S. Naval Hospital Ship Comfort arrived at Pier 90 in New York on Mar. 30, 2020.

With the capacity of 1,000-bed 12 operating rooms, a medical laboratory, and more than 1,000 officers, the Navy hospital ship will take patients with other medical problems to relieve New York hospitals overrun by coronavirus infected patients.
However, the ship only treated 182 patients in three and a half weeks despite high expectations to help ease the strain on overburdened city hospitals dealing with the novel coronavirus outbreak. After all, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said its facilities were no longer needed and that the Comfort officially departed New York harbor on Apr. 30, 2020.

Silence, dead silence reigned all around the city of New York. Empty streets, closed stores, desolateness, and languish became the familiar atmosphere to New York.
The Covid-19 pandemic changed and is changing the world forever. As of January 14, 2021, over 92.3 million cases and more than 1.9 million deaths have been reported globally. America lost the lives of 384,804 amid more than 23.1 million cases. More Americans have died during the pandemic than 9/11(2,997) and Vietnam War(58,220). In the case of New York, the state of New York has more than 1.1 million cases and 39,760 deaths.
This work is the record of the beginning of the pandemic outbreak in New York in fear, despair, and a glimpse of hope and solidarity.
